I had the opportunity to visit one of my favourite cities in the world... New York City! It was just how i imagine it would be. The buildings, the colourful people, the lights, the action and the yellow cabbies... I can still smell the New York sent and hear the honking of horns...
Talking about honking of horns, it was actually not as noisy as i imagined and seen on films. Its amazing how the films and sitcoms drew the picture of NYC. But it was definitely inviting and exciting as the stories were told through the tv and films.
NYC has been my must stop destination for holidays for as long as i can remember... Kinda cliche... But watching those stars talking about NYC like as if it was their friend.... how NYC has a attitude and its own personality was very intriguing ... Movies and films shot in NYC it self has made that city as popular as Angelina Jolie & Britney Spears...
No one, outside New York, would ever look at NYC if its not because of sitcoms of America... Sex and the City, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Seinfeld, Frasier, How I Met Your Mother, just to name a few.... They always tend to say emotional things about it and sometimes throws in the not-so-great things about it.
They all made it look like New York as it is.
Looking at SATC.... they had made a character out of NYC. Intentionally they did.
NYC speaks through its cafes, cinemas, theatres, clubs, bars, musicals, cars, buildings, culture, people and its bridges too actually.
As we touched down in Newark Airport, you could here me scream inside with joy. I seriously couldnt believe we've reached. All the while we were staying with a ex-colleague of my mom's in New Jersey.

Before the trip , I heard a lot about it. Heard it a lot in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. mostly. It seemed its quite a long distance from Manhattan. Many times Monica or Rachel had to travel back and forth to New Jersey and they grumble about the travel. Oh ya, if im not mistaken, Ross and Monica's parents stays there. Yes im a F.R.I.E.N.D.S freak.
We were in the car on the way to the house we were going to bunk in, on my right.... Manhattan. How i gasped. My sister was quite cool about it but i was actually
'jakun'.
At the house, it was quite huge. As in the movies, no bushes or walls to seperate themselves with their neighbours. Until now im wondering how they ever keep their neighbourhood feeling safe.
For the first night, the Uncle; my mom's ex-colleague, En. .... , took us to one of the jetty's to look at the view from New Jersey. It was a magnificient and beautiful view. It looks unreal but we were there....

They still kept the buildings as it is with its his-stories with its scars and teared down look. Surprisingly there were tourists touring the state. Taking pictures at every corner and colorful decorated trishaws passing by with its bulit in speakers blasting music as it 'kring-kring' by.
When i was about to take a picture of us, the owner was so sibuk and dived in the picture too. Hmmm... So friendly. He even told us to come back there again so that he can take his guitar out and sing for us. And he gave us a sneak peak ... of his talent ... We were like, 'Ok Uncle... Thanks ah...' Shook his hands and walked away..... Hmmm...
